KKLA - 99.5 Christian Radio
Interview with
Duffy & Co.
We look for venues and opportunities
to spread the news about Friday Study Ministries. So Warren Duffy interviewed Pastor Ron and his wife
Genevieve, on his radio program, "Duffy & Company - Live from
L.A." on KKLA-99.5 FM. They enjoyed the time with Duffy,
sharing the history, accomplishments and blessings of God through
FSM. Duffy was very enthusiastic and supportive of this
unique ministry and the First Church on the Net. Thank
you, Duffy & Company, for helping spread the news about FSM. |

Heart to Heart with Lorelai
Pastor Ron
and Genevieve had another wonderful experience to share the
ministry work of FSM with a dear friend, Lorelai Kude, who has
her own TV show, "Heart to Heart." Lorelai seeks out special
outreach ministries and organizations in the Southern California
area and invites them on her show. Lorelai is well acquainted
with our ministry and receives the FSM weekly sermons and studies.
Thank you, Lorelai, for your hospitality and support.
May God bless you and your ministry, "Heart to Heart."

New FSM Website
We are excited!
Hope you enjoy our new look at
www.fridaystudy.org.
Our interactive church site has been in the
development stages for some time and is now fully ready for
the net. We have been blessed with the wonderful web
development team of Sandy from Assertive Group. And,
we are additionally blessed with the music ministry of Renee
Bondi, who graciously has allowed us to feature her special
music for our church. Renee's story is published in the
"Especially For Women"
section of FSM. She is dear to us, especially in helping
us reach out with God's love to our friends with disabilities.
To order her music and find her guest-speaking schedule, visit

FSM Visits
Ground Zero
Ground Zero was a place Pastor Ron and Genevieve felt compelled
to visit. Trips to New York City were arranged; with plans to minister, share Gen’s NY roots with Ron,
visit family, and enjoy the adventures of the City. Gen
was born in
Brooklyn and many relatives live and work in
Manhattan and the surrounding areas.
Several visits to Ground Zero to learn and minister were to
say the least, memorable. The devastation was evident.
And so was the out-pouring of love, support and prayers from
people for the victims, families and the entire city in recovery.
We didn’t realize it before, but seven buildings had been destroyed,
with other buildings awaiting possible demolition due to structural,
smoke and weather damage.
We heard stories of the debris and rubble that rushed down the
narrow streets when the buildings collapsed; estimated to be
traveling at the speed of 300 miles an hour. Dorothy,
Gen’s sister-in-law, shared how she narrowly escaped being killed
by the rush of rubble, when she decided to resist at that very
moment the urge to leave her office building, which was down
the street from the towers. Dorothy said the Lord protected
her.
Our trip to New York included ministry outreach assistance through
the coordinating efforts of Mission NYC and Director Rick Camacho.
Pastor Ron was asked to lead a devotional study for a youth
group from
West Virginia, who came to minister to the people
of New York during summer break.
Rick and his staff were gracious and helpful in accessing the
needs of NYC.
Pastor Ron and Gen visited fire stations providing special deliveries
of prayers and pictures from the children of Harvest Christian
Schools in Southern California, as well as, other support information.
They talked with fire personnel, asked about their losses and
offered additional grief support and prayer. Because of
the loss of personnel in the 911 tragedies, there are not enough
fire personnel to keep the stations open during an emergency
call to respond. Ron and Gen noticed when a fire truck
responded, the station was locked up and all personnel left
with the truck. In different ways, precincts dedicated
areas in their stations in remembrance of their lost comrades.
They definitely had a great sense of loss experienced.
Also, Ron and Gen talked with police personnel to inquire about
their experiences and the challenges they face. They heard
of funerals still being held; families who had been waiting
for news about their loved ones. Gen asked her cousin,
John, a NYPD officer, how may funerals he had attended.
His answer was, “at least forty, and there are still special
ceremonies occurring dedicated to lost personnel in the line
of duty.”
Much continued prayer and grief support is needed for the people
of New York. Many have been in shock and have lived “on
automatic pilot” for all these months and are just now realizing
the deeper levels of grief they may be currently experiencing.
It is very difficult for people to reflect on that day of September
11th. Many try to resist visiting those reflective
thoughts and their experiences because the memories are so frightening
and painful; it seems impossible still that it happened.
But, avoiding the natural grief process or postponing it doesn’t
help; won’t make it go away. Grief is inevitable and if
avoided, it will resurface in the future, most likely at a more
difficult level to deal with.
Their stories are amazing and so sad; some we talked to had
not shared their story only a couple of times, and really needed
to talk. New Hope’s Grief Support Handbooks were provided
by FSM, along with listening ears, hugs and prayers to all who
were in need.
There is hope and a future with our Lord Jesus Christ.
We encourage you to continue to pray for NYC and visit if you
can. It’s a wonderful city, rich in history, art, culture,
cathedrals, and of course, entertainment.

Taste
and See
Paraclete Publishing has printed
a new devotional book, called "Ordinary Women, Taste and See",
by Dr. Christine Beaucage - a series of "Taste and See" books
is to follow. This delightful book contains inspiring
stories of ordinary women in their extra-ordinary walks with
God. Thirty-one ladies share Their testimonies of God's
work in their lives, and include some recipes you might want
to try as well.
Several of the authors in the
book are accomplished Christian writers, but most of the ladies
were published for their first time. And Pastor Ron's
wife, editor of FSM's Especially For Women, is one of the authors
in "Taste and See".
