Hello, thank you for your inspiration ("Hats for the Homeless" in "Especially For Women"). I am just beginning to start crocheting for the homeless. I have been crocheting since 10 years of age. I am now 48 years young. I am so happy I found this website and hope I can help others to help themselves knowing someone cares about what happens to them. Peacefully, Jana 12/30/01
Hi Ron, Great message today (Galatians 2:16-21).  Have forwarded onto two of the beloved.  We are truly saved by grace.  Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful wife.  Love, Sheri. 12/22/01
This is really good.. (Galatians 2:16-21). Hope all have a blessed and joyous Christmas... Take care, Liz  12/21/01
Hi Ron; Merry Christmas to you! I've read today's message (Galatians 2:16-21) and know that this is a hard teaching. My questions are . . . (A series of questions followed which were responded to by email).  Mike.  12/21/01
I miss you.  If you like to write me please do. Let me know how y'all are doin'.  Love in Christ, Jonathan.  12/20/01
Re: Sunday Sermon - 12/16/01 - Advent - Luke 2:11
Ron.. this is so beautiful.... I had never understood the vulnerability of the Baby Jesus and how it applies to us .... how we must give up all control and be like an infant.. totally dependant on Jesus.  Thank you.. A very Blessed Christmas to you.  Liz. 1 Peter 4:10.  12/18/01
Father, "Nick", who is very much in love with Cindy, his wife, is asking for prayer.  Cindy, 32 years old, has just been diagnosed with stage 4 cervical cancer and her chances for survival are very slim.  She was pregnant with our second child and had miscarried at 5 months and now they know why.  Nick really believes Cindy can be healed through prayer, Father, and we join him in asking.  Please HEAL Cindy and rid her of all cancer, so she may enjoy all that life has to offer, and continue to be a wonderful mother to their 5-year old  son Michael.  Heal her, Lord.  Keep her with Nick and Michael.  In Jesus Name.  Amen.  12/12/01
Hello Ron, My name is Cindy and I work with Diane, who forwards your studies to me. They are wonderful !!!!!! I am always inspired and convicted at the same time. Diane is such a blessing to me and I love her. You have a blessed way of taking scripture and applying it to my day. I thank you for your gift and I thank our awesome Lord.  God Bless You, Cindy.   12/5/01
Great message Pastor Ron (The Goal - 11/25/01).
Recently I began reading RC Sproul's "How to Study the Bible". It is very good on keeping within context, and interpretation caution. I enjoy his 12-12:30 message each day on KKLA, if you can check in at that hour-do so. I think he would be an asset to your list of McGee and Smith.  Rick and Sue.  11/29/01
May I post the following message on this bulletin board:
I am a graduate student at CSU Dominguez Hills. After reading the article in the paper about this ministry I became interested in Religion and the Internet. I need volunteers to fill out a short survey for a term paper I am writing on the topic. Thank you.  Virginia.  11/29/01
Dear Ron: I really like this study ("The Germ"). Just read it for the first time today. I don't know how I missed it , because I read all your studies, plus your e-mails. I also like the prayer in the end for people to understand the Bible better, and accept Jesus as their Personal Savior. I also like your little testimony you included. You're doing great for the Lord.  Marilyn  11/25/01
Dear Ron & Gen, How fun. Wish we could come to your Sunday fellowship there (in St. Louis) but we're just a little busy at that time.  David & Christine.  11/21/01
Ron and Genevieve, I would have loved to join you in St. Louis. That is where I am from and love to go back to visit.  Pastor Dave.  11/21/01
Dear Ron, Got FSM backed up.  In His service, Ernie.  Thanks, Ernie, for all you have done for Friday Study Ministries.  You certainly are in His service.  11/14/01
Dear Ron and Gen, I just have a couple of "quick" questions.... came up in a bible study the other night. The Old Testament people, or those before Christ came to "save" them....how were they "saved"... I always thought it was as Hebrews talks about thru their faith and obedience to God and when God instituted the sacrifices to worship Him...... And what about those who have never heard the gospel? (Like in the jungle, etc.) - Not a trick question, honest!!! I thought that no one is without excuse because of God's creation is evidence that there is God.... (in Romans I think).... Thanks!!! Sandy
Wonderful question. "The Father sent His Son to be the Savior of the world" (1 John 4:14). That means everybody in the world, every place, past, present and future. To those who performed animal sacrifice, it was a reflection of the death of the animal at the Garden of  Eden (Genesis 3:21), which looked forward to Christ. It was a symbol for us all that we are sinners and need to be rescued by the death of an innocent substitute. There is no other way. In Revelation 5:9, we learn that Jesus "purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation." The phrase "every language" is interesting. Have you ever read the "Prologue to the Canterbury Tales" in Old English? It goes something like this: "Whan that Aprille with his shores sute, the drote of Marche is perced to the roote..." That was English in about the year 1300. That language, though it is called "English" does not exist anymore. The same for those who spoke ancient Chinese dialects in 2500 BC. Jesus died for them, too ("every tribe and language"). Jesus died for us all. Paul said, "When Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law, since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness..." Romans 2:14-15). If that person of 2500 BC, in what is now China, reached out to God with his or her whole heart, God received them. They were sincere. They trusted in God though they knew little about Him. They (and the rest of us) were saved, not on the basis of their "good" works, but because Jesus Christ is the "Savior of the world" and all that have ever been a part of it. We have greater "light" (more information) but it is all a matter of faith in Him; not how much we know about Him.  11/8/01
Hi Ron, Thank you so much for your kind prayers, thoughts and words. What a  blessing to have you in the Lord’s service. Bill 11/8/01
I'll be getting out in May and going to visit my family in LB and would love to personally shake your hand and thank you for all your support!  Thanx again and the prayers are working! Your GI friend, Scott.  11/7/01
Thanks Ron. I guess I understand what that means. It’s funny (odd) that verse 4 would be worded exactly like verse 5 as far as saying answer not a fool according to his folly, and 5 would say answer a fool according to his folly. that’s what I don’t understand. I think your explanation is perfect. And I get that you would not respond “in kind” or in “like manner” to a fool’s wisdom. But you WOULD respond to fool to keep his foolishness from proliferating itself.  Bill  11/3/01 (Ron answered Bill's e-mail question about Proverbs 26:4-5)
Thank you Ron-- This one really touched home--keep 'em coming! Love, Billie 11/1/01 (As to sermon "The Friend II")
Thanks, Pastor Ron. Point well taken. We are witnesses. We are to be bright lights, joyful and warm and loving...not looking 'holier than thou', persecuted martyrs, stressed-out and unfriendly. I guess my thoughts about being friendly to non-believers is that we are to be a MAGNET...NOT A REPELLANT!! Keep spreading God's WORD!! Way to go for Jesus!  Sincerely, in His Service, too,  Pastor Tom Schulte @ Cottonwood Christian Center!  10/29/01
Dear Ron:  Thank you for all the sermons and the prayers. More prayers for strength needed, thank you so much. Scotty  10/27/01
Dear Pastor Ron, thank you so very much for the Bible studies .They help me so much . Have a wonderful week. Regina  10/27/01
Is it right OK to ask God to heal this land, when it might be that it is His hand that is bring all this onto us. Should we also be spending our time praying for the nation to repent and come back to Him? I think that is what most of the prophets did. I see a lot of people missing that part of having a true relationship with Jesus. Having that changed heart is what God is longing for.  In His Love, TED 10/24/01
Prayer for the lost is always good and so is prayer for our country.  We are to follow our hearts in prayer, for the Holy Spirit lives in those who love our Lord and He will lead us in how to pray.  Ron
Hello Brother, I hope all is well. You are doing a wonderful work for the Lord. I'm praying for you!!!  Earl  10/24/01
Theological question for you: "And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all." - 1st Corinthians 15:28 I don't understand this verse, it implies... (lengthy, multi-paragraph questions followed - as an answer, referred the reader to Friday Study Commentary on 1 Corinthians 15.  Ed.) 10/18/01
Ron, enjoy and agree with your words on war & leadership. my very first thought on the a.m. of sept 11 - this is what the end of the world will look like. since then God keeps putting one verse on my heart "For God so loved the world . . .". can you love a Muslim? a terrorist? Christ did. I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and those poor people of Afghanistan, for the firemen's families in New York and for the vengeful, misguided patriots. I've been praying a lot lately.  Steve.  10/17/01
Good stuff Ron!!! (The War II) Thanks.  Sandy.  10/16/01
Right on!! Good ol' Right on Righteous Reverend Ron. Good Job!! (The War II). Thanks, Don 10/16/01
Ron, That was an absolutely wonderful response (The War II). I agree completely and join you in praying for our leaders.  Pastor Dave Rader 10/16/01
Ron, Thank you for your message today (The War II).  I, too, was confused by some of the issues others have mentioned.  My particular questions related to the fact that George Bush is being criticized for not being more open about the "spiritual" battle that is raging.  Thanks for addressing these issues. We need to be using our heads as well as guarding our hearts.  May God protect and lead us in His wisdom and truth. In Him,  Rochelle 10/15/01
Dear Ron: Good teaching. Love In Him, Marilyn 10/14/01
A reader has asked for a study in the Book of 2 John.  The timing is perfect, because we have just finished the Book of Hosea.  The Epistle of 2 John is to be presented today (Friday) and next week as well.  After this Book, we will start a new study in the Letter to the Galatians.  Be sure to visit our ongoing study in the Book of Acts.  10/12/01
Awesome and timely message Pastor Ron.  (Sermon "Good Grief").  Thank you for this Scriptural encouragement for renewed strength and faith. I loved the Habbakuk passages. I know that we all have our lives written by God in a book just about us (PS 139:16) and this is how I can feel less distressed about dying children, young parents who are killed, and the over 7000 in NY etc. God is writing a book about Dennis, and it is not finished yet until he breathes his last breath. A loving, perfect timing God knows when that is, and then finishes the book with a great ending.  You are a dear man to love those who the world forgets. God's best to you Pastor Ron and Gen.
Sue.  10/8/01
Always good to here ( read your) messages I am sorry to hear about your Pastor friend (Sermon: "Good Grief") I will pray for him that he won't have pain, but I am not quite sure that what else to pray for! He seems to be a precious man.  Laurie.  10/8/01
Dear Ron: I like Friday's study. It is very clear.  Marilyn.  10/7/01

We received an e-mail that expressed concern about Billy Graham's participation in the recent memorial service at the National Cathedral in D.C.  Pastor Ron's response:
I think Billy Graham used his opportunity well in speaking at that service.  As to whether he should have spoken, I think so. I believe this is a man who knows the Lord, prays, reads the Word, and much like Paul, does or does not do things based on what he believes is the leading of the Lord.  For a long time, I wondered about the Pharisees and Sadducees of Jesus' time, erroneously concluding they were simply a phenomenon of the Jewish religion. Not so. I believe the attitude of those men is what underlies the world's religions in general. I've met many in positions of religious authority and have concluded that the way of this world is amply revealed in those who came against Jesus in the New Testament.  We create religions, but with God it's personal and He gives grace to those who simply trust in Him.  The counter argument could be, "Well, God created the Jewish religion."  Actually, that's not quite what He was doing. He was revealing Himself in those people, showing His holiness in the Law, and making clear the complete inability of humanity in the keeping of that Law. He showed our need of a Redeemer, and we see, in the Old and New Testaments alike, that we are unable to redeem ourselves. Then He sent Jesus and all who trust in Him are saved from sin and death (John 3:16). Our hearts are made new, our attitudes are changed, and like Mary Magdelene, we are given the grace and  love of God in Christ Jesus.  Jesus went into the synagogues and the temple. He presented the good  things of God in the places of this world. Just like Paul did; just like Billy Graham did. When we are given opportunity to speak, we should pray, and speak (or not speak) as God gives us utterance at that time.  9/28/01
Dear Pastor Ron,  I want to tell you that very soon I'm going to forward some of your messages translated into Spanish. I have used some of them already and it has been a blessing to my congregation. I also told the congregation about your Internet Church and they all got blessed by the news. I don't know if you're going to understand these messages in Spanish but maybe somebody will in the NET.  My dear brother, may God continue using you in a powerful way and I pray that God pour His anointing in your life and in the ministry He put in your hands. Thank you for letting me translate your messages and use them for teaching. God Bless you and I hope to hear from you soon.......Pastor Gus.  9/19/01
Thank you for ministering to my nephew in Korea. I am sure you will be a great support, and God will use you in his life. God Bless You, Pastor Ron.  Love in Christ, Patti  9/18/01

Re: Sunday Sermon – 8/19/01 – Matthew 16:25 – The Loser.  What a great message, Ron.  Thanks for sharing it with me.  Marie.  8/20/01

Dear friend: I have enjoyed so much the messages you have been sending me.  Thank you for the word and may God continue using you in special way giving the Word of God to all the Net people.  Gus  8/15/01

I am thankful and blessed by this work of God because I have forgotten about many of these people or believed that God could not use them for ministry. The testimonies of people like Pastor Dennis Broxton encourage me and challenge me to test my own faith. Though his body is broken and useless, he is a vessel of the Holy Spirit, continuing to do God's work. Pastor Dennis still has a church! Amen!! God is not limited by people or their abilities. He is not blocked by borders or legislation. His word is alive and well in His people, and yes, the internet.  Don  8/15/01

(In relation to the sermon, "The Joy of the Lord II")
Ron, Thanks for the encouragement. True indeed!
Chaplain Gerry  8/13/01

Hello Mr. Beckham, (from the Long Beach Press Telegram)
I would like to do a column on your online Bible studies this week. Please give me a call on Tuesday around 2p.m. for an interview. If you have names of anyone else please have them call me Tuesday afternoon as well. My deadline is Thursday, so if I could interview everyone and get any further info you would like me to have by then, it will be greatly appreciated. God Bless you and yes add me to your mailing list for the Sunday sermon. Thanks, Pamela  8/13/01

Dear Pastor Ron, What a sensitive, caring letter you sent in response to my letter. Not at all "canned" but really expressing an understanding for the situation I am facing. I truly appreciate it, and the very "on target" prayer which was also included. Thanks for your counsel. It was like an ointment to my worn out spirit and I shall go back and read it again :-). Thanks also for praying and putting me on a list of prayer.  Sue 8/12/01

Dear Ron and Genevieve, Love you both and will continue to uplift you and your ministries in my prayers. In Him, Marilyn 8/12/01

Hi all!  I am going to test your fine minds ... For years I have been using a passage of scripture ..."My eyes saw even the embryo of you" but I cannot find it anywhere in the Bible ... This was, I thought, God talking to somebody ... and it has been one of my most effective passages for a pro life stand ... I am almost positive I read it in the Word of God ... however, we have searched and searched and can't find anything close. Nancy 8/12/01.  Dear Nancy:  Psalm 139:15 - "My frame was not hidden from Thee, when I was made in secret."

Ron, I receive your weekly studies and enjoy them very much. I use them all the time. I love studying the Word of God.  Hope to hear from you again. Thanks for answering my request.
Yours in Christ,  Terry.  7/31/01

Ron, Your sermons are very good. I am writing my dissertation  and do not have time to read them as well as many other unsolicited messages sent to me. Please delete me from your list.  Tom 7/29/01.
Your address will be deleted, Tom. Actually, we do not send unsolicited messages. We receive new subscribers from two sources: 1) People ask for the mailings, or 2) Someone refers an e-mail address asking for them to be included.  Friday Study Ministries is for those who cannot or will not attend a Church, including BUSY people. If you have time, visit our online Church at www.fridaystudy.org.  God bless you. We pray you do well with your dissertation.
Ron Beckham, Pastor, Friday Study Ministries

Saw this article today ("Next Generation Church will be on the Internet"), beloved of God, and thought of you.  Bob.  7/25/01

Dear Gen and Ron,
Well, I know that it's "Especially For Women," but I went there anyway to read what Renee Bondi has to say. She is such a GOOD choice for your web site. Renee performed at our church a few months ago, on Sunday morning and evening. Her message and her singing voice are gifts from God. Diane and I were listening to a CD of hers on the way to the office this morning! Thank you for making her story available to more people. I pray for continued blessings on your ministry.  With love, Jim
PS: Ron, I just noticed that the first listing of your web site address in your Friday e-mail message is "www.fridaystudy.com." The second, lower one seems to be OK. The Friday message was, once again, a GREAT one!
Thank you, Jim, for your encouragement, AND for helping us to know when we don't get it right.

Hi Ron,
Thank you for your sermons. They are a great help on the road. I am in Malaysia at the moment.  Love in Him, Beverly  7/18/01

This sounds very interesting. I am certainly interested in writing about it (Friday Study Ministries). . .Send me some names of people who attend these Bible studies who are willing to give me quotes on how it helps them. I would also like to interview you.  Send me the info as soon as possible and a photo of yourself.  God bless you and your ministry.  (From a local newspaper).  Pamela Hale.  Dear Readers:  If you'd like to be interviewed by a newspaper, now's the time to contact this ministry:  ron@fridaystudy.org  7/18/01

Re: Sunday Sermon – 7/15/01 – I Will Answer – Isaiah 65:24.  To: ron@fridaystudy.org - Thank you again Ron.
Love, Billie  Thanks, Billie, you're very encouraging.

Dear Ron:  (Reference Especially For Women)
I have a little trouble with calling good deeds done by people here on earth as angels sent by God. Ted. (Ted's question was answered by e-mail, as yours will be, when you write to ron@fridaystudy.org)  7/10/01

A lady writes:  I'm just wondering why my desire to stay at home does not change. I must work constantly, and have almost nothing left for fun with the children. Is this the way it is supposed to be?  We answered this e-mail, and the basis of that answer was in Matthew 16:24 - Often the "cross" in our lives is the denial of the very thing we feel God indicated we should have.  Jesus said, "take up (your) cross, and follow (Him)."  Difficult, but it can be the way to renewed faith in Him, and ultimately to JOY in the Lord.  7/10/01

Re: Sunday Sermon – 7/8/01 – The Mechanic – Psalm 139:14.  Thanks again Ron.  Love, Billie.  7/10/01

Ron -- I just looked at your e-mail and your website. Once again, congratulations on getting church status for your online ministry.  I've been looking at the various parts of your site and plan to check back at regular intervals.  Carolyn.  7/10/01

Dear Genevieve: I enjoyed your latest story on "Especially for Women". I plan to send it on to a lady who has cancer of the breast and is presently going thru treatment for it. She is an author and a Christian. She is my writing mentor. I must say, God's timing is Perfect Timing. I would also like to put some of my writing on Especially for Women, because they are true personal experiences to Glorify the Lord. Please let me know by e-mail.  Marilyn.  6/17/01

Hi Ron, Bobby has a question for you. What are the names of the mountains in the Bible and to what purpose did they serve?  Peace, Jennie and Bobby.   6/17/01 Dear Bobby,
Mountains in the Bible include Ararat, Baalah (mistress), Baal Hermon (possessor of Hermon), Carmel (fruitful), Ebal (bald), Gaash (quaking), Gerizim (rocky), Gilboa (bubbling spring), Gilead (heap of witness), Hor (mountain), Horeb (desolate), the Mount of Olives, Seir (rugged), Shepher (beauty), Tabor (broken), Zion, and there are more. Mountains are, of course, notable places, as are valleys. What would the world be like if it was just all flat?  Mountains formed boundaries between countries, and are cooler places which draw wildlife - so, in days when there were no supermarkets, mountains were places to hunt for dinner. Jesus often went to the mountains to pray. Abraham was tested on Moriah (another mountain), the Law was given to Moses on Sinai (yet another), and Mount Zion was the place of David's city. Noah's ark came to rest on Ararat. Mountains and valleys contribute to the circlulation of air within our atmosphere. Without mountains, life, if it existed at all, would be much more uncomfortable.  Mountains are typically beautiful and we should praise God, who created them for you and for me.
The ministry of John the Baptist was to "prepare the way of the Lord, make His paths straight. Every valley" was to "be filled and every mountain and hill brought low; and the crooked places" were to "be made straight, and the rough ways made smooth, and all flesh" was to "see the salvation of God" (Luke 3:4-6).
What John did was cause people to repent of their sins, and his message was "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand" (Matthew 3:2). The "valleys" represent people who are so unhappy (depressed) that they can't think about anything but their problems. They need to be brought to a place where they
can be "lifted up" or "filled", to a point where they can look outside themselves and find Jesus Christ ("the salvation of God"). The "mountains" in the parable relate to those who are filled with pride, and are so "lifted up" they mostly think only of themselves, and they need to be brought low, in order to be able to look outside of themselves and find the Lord.   Ron
Keep them (the mailings of Friday Study Ministries) coming and keep up the good work. God Bless.  Father Mike.  6/15/01

Hi Ron, The Lord has blessed you both with a gift of teaching and of writing.  (Romans 5:3 "The Song"). Thank you for being faithful to share that gift with others.  Sheri  6/11/01

Ron: Just got done reading the Sunday Sermon. Thank you for continuing to share it.  Mark   6/11/01

What does "praying it through" mean to you? I told a brother…..that he had done that & realized I'm not real clear about what that meant. Steve. 6/10/01 What I believe is the meaning of "prevailing prayer", or indeed it might be called "praying it through" is found in places like Luke 18 (the "unjust judge") - she kept after the judge until he answered, and there are other Scriptures like that one. We learn to trust God, even when we don't immediately see the answer to prayer. I believe prayer is applied faith. Yes, we pray in His will, and when we know we are in His will, we keep on praying, whether the answer is now, or 50-years later. We believe that 1) He has drawn us to this very prayer, 2) He is able to answer, 3) and He WILL answer (He loves us that much) - We just keep praying until the answer comes.   Ron
Well, this study ("Pentecost") certainly goes with the "Come Together" event (FSM Bulletin Board)..saw you and Genevieve up on the stage..what an AWESOME event!!! Loved it!!!!
God bless.  Sondra   6/7/01

Dear Ron,
We read and are blessed by your sermons almost every Sunday.  Today's (Pentecost) was especially wonderful. I (Christine) read it out loud to Dave.  WOW! PTL.   Love in Christ, Dave & Christine  6/5/01

A reader has asked:  "What is a Pentecost celebration?" "Pentecost" which literally means "fiftieth" was 50-days after Passover. It is called the "Festival (Feast) of Weeks" (Exodus 34:22, Deuteronomy 16:9-11), and was also called the "Feast of Harvest" (Exodus 23:16). It was the date chosen by our Lord God for the Gift of the Holy Spirit, as depicted in Acts 2:1 (see Sunday Sermon 6/3/01). The Feast of Weeks was a celebration of the harvest of grain in Israel. They, who had been slaves and were now free, were given much by the Lord. At Pentecost, we who were slaves to sin and are now free, are given much by the Lord. We come together and celebrate all He has done for you and for me.  6/3/01
Ron, I have a question regarding Prov. 31's Godly woman. In my study, one of the women said "nowhere in the Bible is there a description of the ‘perfect’ man."  I think there are many examples of Godly men in the Bible showing their behavior and character by many events - how would you address this??? Sandy.  6/2/01 I've often been impressed with the Proverbs 31 woman. She's actually dynamite, and runs not only the home, but also the family businesses. Her husband seems to remain at the gate (he would have been a city official, a magistrate), receiving glory, perhaps, for what she has done. She hired people (men and women), instructed (taught) them, and would have been a tough lady to work for - a "no-nonsense" employer. But you find the quality of a Godly woman, in verse 30, where it is said she "fears the Lord."

There are a number of candidates for the "Godly man" in Scripture. Certainly, you have to look at Abraham and David. Both of them were men faithful to God. Our traditional definitions of leadership don't apply, since Philippians 2 shows the true "leader" is actually the one who is willing to serve others. In a marriage, the husband will serve (lead) his wife with love. Abraham would be a popular choice, but David has a unique quality, in that he tended to fall into sin (Abraham, too, but David more so).

This would seem to disqualify him, except that he was also a man with a repentant heart. And, of course, we're all sinners - "If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us" (1 John 1:10). David was "forgiven" and "cleansed" (as in 1 John 1:9), and therefore "right" before God. He was a faithful man.

A New Testament candidate (for me) would be the Apostle Paul. He wasn't a perfect man (any more than the Proverbs 31 lady was the perfect woman), except he was a man who looked to the Lord with great fervor (as did Abraham and David), and when he got off in the wrong direction, he was quick to change his ways. And of course, our model in all things is Jesus Christ, the One who "was tempted in all things" but was "without sin."

There are others, but these are good examples. As you indicate, there is no lack of "Godly men" in Scripture.

Thank you for your studies, Ron ;-) Shalom, Candace 5/20/01

Thanks Ron, That was very good! Karen 5/19/01 (in relation to the study in Hosea 8:11-14).

Thank you Ron--for a beautiful, heart felt sermon. Christo is blessed to have such a loving grandfather. Love, Billie  5/8/01

Dear Ron (Chris and Tricia), I am so sorry for the pain which must feel overwhelming. I join you in your prayers for Christopher and I will share this with my internet prayer partners. With love, Linda   5/8/01

Dear Ron, Such great, and such sobering news, all at once. The advancement of God's ministry through Friday Study Ministries is great to behold! On the other hand, Christo's situation is not promising, as you noted, but what an opportunity for our Lord to work through this child, and even to heal him when it is time. Thanks you for your ministry, and for your story.  With love, Jim L.  5/6/01

"Oh give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His Name, make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him, talk about all His wonderful works. Glory in His Holy Name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD and His strength: seek His face evermore." - Psalm 105:1-4.  Ron, I give thanks and praise to our Father for what He "hath wrought" in your life. "You will know them by their fruit" - I appreciate your "fruit" so much! Mazel Tov on the "official" status of the church, and your beautiful grandson whose life, like all of our lives, is in the hands of the One Who has promised never to leave or forsake us. Thank you for sharing all this with me, and with all of us. I'm blessed to be a part of the first church on the Internet!
Love, Lorelai.  5/6/01

I must comment, this is very good!!!  (Sermon "The Rest of God").  Mary.  4/27/01

Ron, Thank you for your Sunday Sermon; the one about the sea and storms. It was apropos to what I needed and it ministered to me.  Sheridan 4/24/01

Wow Ron I have read many of your letters of encouragement and truth. Thanks I have been ministered to a lot.
Laurie S.  4/23/01

Ron, Thank you. I have been sailing into the wind for two months. Last week I felt like I was that little boat in the middle of the storm. I feel like I am being hit from all sides. I have been trying to sort out what I should do about this and should have done about that and should not have done about
something else, etc. etc. etc. Perhaps I just need to "rest." The timing for your sermon was divine. I am reminded of a small poster I used to have hanging in my den (when I had a den). It was the picture of a large sailing ship anchored in a safe, calm harbor in a beautiful sunset. At the bottom of the picture, it read: "A ship in the harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for." Thank you, and thank God, for your sermon this morning when I arrived at work. Linda 4/23/01

Ron,
Just wanted to say thank you and to tell you I enjoy these studies very much. I think this is such a great gift God has given you and I ask Him, even now, to continue blessing you and this ministry.  I often think back to our trip to Israel together and am so thankful God brought us together for that magnificent adventure. I've yet to experience anything like standing atop Shiloh with the wind rushing in my face. As I stood there, I remember trying to imagine what it must have been like to be looking out at the surrounding tribes gathered on each of the "mountains" to the North, South, East and West of the hill where the Tabernacle stood. I can hardly believe I was even there. And what about Capernaum and the lamb at Shepherd's field (as you mentioned in one of your previous studies), and of course, The Wall. Wow!
Bob  4/20/01

Pastor Beckham,
I just checked my mail, the first time since before Easter. Thank you for your messages. They were wonderful. God has blessed you with the words and also the experience that you put into your sermons. It is wonderful to see God in every experience, to see a lesson in every task, and to praise the Creator in every thing. I'm going through some special grace from God right now myself. Its so personal, like He knows me deeper than even my wife. It's hard to keep it all in. May He bless you richly
Sam S.  4/17/01

Ron, I loved the Sermon called "Resurrection Sunday.  I never thought about the foods we eat having to die so we might live.  This message was just what I needed to hear.
Don H.  4/16/01

I will fax you some quotes. No response necessary. I thought you might be able to use them in your sermons. Some are especially interesting considering who said them.  Michelle
4/15/01

Dear Ron,
I have been enjoying your on-line sermons and they have touched me personally. Here is my suggestion. I was thinking that it would be nice to have more 'sermons' that are geared strictly to unbelievers. I am always looking for concise, intelligent arguments for why one should believe in Jesus to pass on to my unbeliever friends. I know a lot of professors and scientist types that are very skeptical. (I deal with them in my business.) Blessings to you and your on-line ministry! Michelle 4/13/01

Pastor Ron .. regarding 1 Corinthians 1:2. "to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours:"  This verse makes it sound like the saints are other than the others who call upon the Name; a separate group. Can you explain this a little better?  Nancy   4/9/01

The word "saint" simply means "holy" or "holy one" and carries the meaning "set apart". Vines said "it designates all believers and is not applied merely to persons of  exceptional holiness, or to those who, having died, were characterized by exceptional acts of saintliness." Paul included every believer at Corinth, when he addressed them as "saints by calling" (we are called to be saints of God - set apart for Him).   Ron 4/9/01

Thank you Ron, this was meant for me! I have been dealing with a situation and it isn't getting better, at least that I can see, and the last couple of days I have realized that my attitude "may" not be right, then I read the Sunday Sermon, the answer to my prayers, the answer is always in the Word of God. I don't always get it right away.  In the Bible study group I attend we studied Isaiah a few weeks back, somehow this verse did not jump out at me at that time; maybe I wasn't ready. Thank you for the work you are doing.... it does make a difference! Take care, Liz
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms" 1 Peter 4:10 ------- 4/9/01

Ron: thanks so much for this Sunday Sermon. I really think I am guilty of trying to "Light the Fire".  Love, Diane 4/8/01

WOW!! That's great! (Friday Study "Hits" for March, 2001). Now, if all the Friday Study regulars sent out Friday Study Ministries promotion messages to our databases (like the one Ron sent us) and uses it for marketing God's ministry, the numbers might really go ballistic. The sky's the limit and anything is possible with Christ!  What do you say? Let's support Pastor Ron in promoting the ministry God has given us to nurture and grow.  In His service,   Genevieve  4/8/01.
(Note:  The message is available to all who ask for it).

We received an Easter card:  "For all of the lives that God touches through you...May God richly bless you.  Love, Dave & Christine.  John 12:26."    4/6/01

Thanks, Ron, for having me on your list. Sorry, but I have to ask you to take me off your distribution list.  The company has told all employees 2 months ago, that religious e-mails are against company policy and are not to be sent and received! It is hard to believe... They have included their ban on the Word with all other non-work related stuff such as jokes, etc. I heard this week they will monitor all e-mails for unapproved stuff during April, maybe longer.... starts this weekend. An outside firm is doing the interrogation, so they will be ruthless, I'm sure.  Jim  3/31/01

Ron,
I just wanted to take this opportunity to say how uplifting your sermons are to me. They are wonderful in every way.
With praises, Michael S.  3/28/01

Dear Ron,
Today as I read your last e-mail, it occurred to me that I haven't thanked you for being a part of my weekly life. I look forward to your sermons and so many times you seem to be speaking just to me. So Thanks Ron, and God Bless.
Mary S.  3/26/01

Thank you Ron for including me in this study.
Love, Billie.  3/23/01

I just grabed your UPDATES as noted in your e-mail today. I downloaded your "updates" to a ZIP disk at my house. In case of computer crash, we can simply copy the updates from my ZIP onto your complete backup ZIP and you've got a complete recovery of fridaystudy.org.  In His name,

Thank you so much for your committment to this ministry. I thought I would check out this website, and was I surprised at what I found.  In our office, I have provided an opportunity for all my employees to spend 30-minutes every morning studying Gods word and in prayer.  We were discussing what study program to use in studying Gods word as we were picking books of the bible and just reading. Needless to say, after going thru this website, we have picked Hosea, and go thru about 7 to 10 verses each morning. I have 3 employees and myself that faithfully get together every morning at 7:30 to study and we sure have appreciated your insight when studying Gods word. Thank you for your faithfullness to God --

I liked the part about the "Ambassador" position in the Sunday Sermon ("The Appointment").  Mike.  3/12/01

Dear Pastor Ron:
I love your website. God is truly using you to share the Lord with so many. In Christ, Cherie.  3/10/01

Thank you for keeping me on the mailing list. My company has just given me a new responsibility as manager over New York City. It is a great challenge. Anyway, I cherish these studies. I give thanks to God for you, making mention of you in my prayers for your continued growth and success. Anthony C. 3/4/01

Ron, as to your Sermon on Colossians 3:3, do you have one on Colossians 3:2 that you could send?  Mike M.  (A sermonette on that verse was created and sent to Mike).  3/2/01

Dear Brother in the Lord Jesus ... I am so very touched by the sermon of Pastor Ron which relates his Sunday with you and which I was forwarded from an old friend I love to hear of the LIFE in Christ ... the deep experience of those who have walked with Him for a long time ... through whom we can see the Lord's Light.  We are inspired by such ones ... We are given new Hope and Vision.  Dear Brother, I am grateful for your Life and your Witness ... and I praise God for His Salvation and His promise of LIFE to come!  Much Love in Him who is Love Personified,

About your request for help with the Friday Study. I would be interested in hearing what you have to say. Please let me know what is needed. Agape,

Ron, Thanks for continuing to share via Friday Study & Sunday Sermon. Always a blessing.  Love, Lorelai  2/5/01

Dear Ron,
It is GREAT that you are increasing your readership by the chat room advertising. A few years ago, no one was talking about web sites, chat rooms, or "hits," but it takes "21st century ideas" to get God's word out in this 21st century! Keep it up.  Jim L.  2/4/01

Dear Ron, Thank you for your message.  We all are confronted daily, with someone to forgive. How can we withhold something that God has given us so freely?
Don H.  2/3/01

Thanks for sharing your on-line sermons.  I share them with a "new" Christian at work.  He too likes them.  Thank You, Jesus.   I love You.  Johnny.  1/28/01

Hi Ron, Thanks for the study. It was just what I needed to digest at this time.  Mark  1/26/01

Hi Ron, Thanks for the update. Yes, please send me info on Friday Studies.  In His grace,
Chaplain Major Gerry Fox  1/22/01

Dear Todd,
I just read your Friday Study testimony.  WOW!  And I will be passing it on to some friends and family who have and do struggle with physical disabilities and all that goes with them. My nephew was born with a pretty severe case of spina bifada. He's 28. They've done the surgeries, braces, specialists for everything from his head to his feet, sitting on the sidelines, and felt the rejection and indifference, etc., of society, friends, and family members. I am sorry for the illness of your father and the pain it causes you.  I will pray for you all.  Sincerely, Linda M.  1/22/01

Ron,
Thanks for giving Todd a chance to tell his story. I have known and worked with Todd in Emmaus for many years, and I had heard a part of his story, but never all of the amazing details. God truly works through all of us, and in whatever condition we find ourselves, to bring glory to His name.  Jim Limpp  1/22/01

Thank you Ron and thank you Todd, an awesome article!!
God's grace, truth, love, blessings and comfort to you and your loved ones, Pastor Bob Elliff  1/22/01

Dear Ron, I am sending Linda's testimony that she wrote regarding the transplant she had (Especially For Women). To make it easy I have attached it. It is in Word Perfect format. If you need it some other way, please let me know.
God bless, Chuck  1/22/01

Dear Ron,
I have been meaning to write you and thank you for the weekly Bible studies you send me. Each time I read one, I find another truth in the wonder of our Precious Lord. Anyway, thanks so much for each and every one and for the insights you provide with them.   God Bless. Your sister in Christ. Mary  1/15/01

I looked up Daniel on the Friday Study website and it was very good. You did address the same things we discussed by e-mail. Daniel Chapter 10 is a very interesting chapter. I liked the Especially For Women.  Jenni.  1/3/01

My Dear Brother Ron:
Thank you for the wonderful sermon.  It is just what I needed to begin this New Year. We love you Ron, and thank God Our Father for putting you in our life.  Happy and Joyful New Year to you and yours.  In His Love,
Tom & Marie  1/2/01
